Travellers
Clinton
Clinton is a township on SH1 perfectly situated for a stop or a stay when travelling.
Stop at the Crossroads for coffee, a meal or a refreshing beverage at the bar. We open everyday at 11am and we guarantee great coffee from opening until we lock the doors at night.
While you are in Clinton, why not take a look at Colin’s ArtDog Gallery, Rebecca’s Chairful Studio or Janice’s Pages Read Bookstore? And on a nice day there’s nothing better than pulling up at the Playground at the Triangle to let the kids stretch their legs. Pop across the road to see Sid at the RD and fuel up or wander down to Jo and the team at the Food for Thought.
Our productive local Lions group have created a superb TRUCKSTOP parking area on Westra Street behind the famous Mackie Clydesdales. This great space is where our valued truck drivers park their rigs overnight but you are welcome to use it during the day if you are travelling in a camper, horse truck or towing a trailer and need an easy spot to park and pop over to Crossroads for a reviving coffee or a bite to eat.
Golf, squash, rugby, tennis, swimming, pony club are all here in Clinton AND since 2024 the Challenge Kuriwao running & MTB race is held here each February. Find the details on Facebook or www.challengekuriwao.co.nz
Right opposite Crossroads is our great Community Centre with new AV and some of the best facilities we know of in a rural Hall. We can happily cater for any groups that book The Hall. Just give Lyn a call and discuss what you need.
We have Backpacker rooms or something a little nicer depending on your requirements, if you’re able to stay over and enjoy our atmosphere for the night.
Pop in and grab a travel map and let our staff boast about the beautiful areas to visit around here. Especially the scenic route to our coastal towns and the Catlin’s native forest which is just around the corner, over the hill and shouldn’t be missed!
